YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Construction of Crompond Crossing, an affordable housing and retail site across from Staples Plaza on Route 202, is moving along without interruption and parts of it could open in the spring.

Best Plumbing, which is currently located in the Staples Plaza, is expected to move across the street late in the spring, according to Neil DeLuca, the site’s developer.

The other commercial building does not have an official tenant, but DeLuca said it will be a “high class” restaurant that matches the design of Best Plumbing.

“We’re negotiating with about four restaurants right now,” DeLuca said. He did not give specific names, but said different American and Asian restaurants are interested in the space.

The 3372 Crompond Road site is also building 26 units of affordable housing. DeLuca said 12 of the units will be completed by the end of March.

“We’re rolling along,” DeLuca said. “The weather’s been great, the town’s been great, an2 we’re moving as fast as we can.”

Where was affordable housing 40 years ago when we bought our house and had to put down 25%

MisterBill2:

I drove past this week and couldn't believe how much work had been done on the Best building. Much of the front appears to be done, but it isn't visible in the picture posted here.

petricig:

I really hope a decent restaurant ends up going in there. Not a lot of places to eat in that area.

@petricig:, You probably haven't looked to hard, they are everywhere.
