YORKTOWN, N.Y. ‒ The woman's clothing boutique Francesca's Collections is expected to open in the Jefferson Valley Mall later this year, a spokesperson for the mall confirmed.

Francesca's has signed a lease but has not settled on a location. There is no exact date for the store to open, but the spokesperson expects it will be in the summer or fall.

"That will probably be determined soon," the spokesperson said.

Francesca's is a national chain with hundreds of stores  throughout the country. The nearest Francesca's Collections are at Palisades Center in Nyack and Ridge Hill in Yonkers. The company has several other locations in the tri-state area.

The store sells shoes, clothing, handbags, jewelry, accessories and gifts. Because it is a boutique, Francesca's carries limited quantities, so display items may vary with each visit, according to its website.

Francesca's could not be reached for comment, but it has posted an online listing for a boutique manager at its Jefferson Valley Mall location.

Oh yay, another women's clothing store. How about some interesting, exciting stores in the mall that will actually bring all different types of people in?

CtlndMnr:

This is a small step forward by Simon Properties.

Still waiting and hoping for any news on the prospective restaurant -- Bucca di Beppo --- opening

Also, the mall has announced a $45M facelift ; but have not seen any start dates;
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Currently the Mall has 10+ empty properties --- agree with you that filling them should be a higher priority than what appears to have taken place to date.

Easy to grouse about the lack of tenants ----------- what stores would you want to see ?

And to Simon --- what help do you need from the Town ????

Jack54:

This is news?

Bob Loblaw:

Oooh, yes, some lame womens clothing store is coming to the mall that no one has ever heard of. Aren't there already several of those there and that's the problem?

MisterBill2:

Sorry it doesn't meet with your approval, but I'd argue that if they're at Ridge Hill, it's not a place that no one has ever heard of. Similarly, lots of places at the mall that you probably think that no one has heard of are pretty popular

This certainly wasn't on my list of stores I'd like to see but it is promising that they're getting a national merchant to move it, and not some locally owned place that's just temporarily filling an empty storefront

MisterBill2:

When is Buca di Beppo opening (if ever)?

bmarschhauser:

Good question. I'll look into it and get back to you when I find out.

CtlndMnr:

A hopeful sign from Simon Properties.

Appears Macys had a good quarter, and that Sears is holding.

Macys same store sales were up 3.9% in 2012 ; Sears same store were down 1.8% in 2012.

Let us watch for Simon to fill some more of those vacant leases.
