Make-a-wish Hudson Valley Names Yorktown Residents To Its Board

YORKTOWN, N.Y. --  The Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley board of directors approved the election of four new members: Dr. Jay Boyer and Andrew C. Quinn, both of Yorktown; Karin Buchholz of Nyack, N.Y.; and Larry Weiss, of New York City.

The chapter serves Delaware, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties.

“I am excited to welcome such strong Board members offering diverse and impressive backgrounds and expertise,” said Thomas J. Conklin, president and chief executive officer of Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley. “Our newest board members have a passion for our mission and represent a breadth of professional interests and bring a wealth of knowledge, drive, and heart to help fulfill our sole goal -- granting wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions.”

Boyer is a board certified pediatric pulmonologist at the New York Medical College and Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center, where his is an associate professor of clinical pediatrics. He is also a fellow of the American Thoracic Society and a fellow of the America College of Chest Physicians. 

Previously, he was medical director for the Marty Lyons Foundation (Westchester Chapter). He received his undergraduate degree in biology from Fordham University and his medical degree from the State University of New York at Brooklyn, N.Y. Boyer lives in Yorktown Heights with his wife, Marianne, and their children.

Quinn is the managing partner of The Quinn Law Firm, PLLC. The firm’s primary focus is to serve the needs of the law enforcement community including the New York Police Department Sergeants Benevolent Association, the Yonkers Police Association and the Putnam County Sherriff’s Association.

He is a graduate of the Washington College of Law at American University in Washington D.C..Quinn and his wife, Cornelia, are parents to wish child Jake, his twin brother, Garrett, and older sister, Julianne. The Quinns live in Yorktown.
