YORKTOWN, N.Y. - Shoppers who frequent Turco's supermarket in downtown Yorktown will have to make alternative plans or wait a few days while some renovations are completed.

Turco's will be closed Wednesday and Thursday while changes are made to help enhance the shopping experience for customers. The store plans to reopen Friday morning.

"Things to make our life easier," said produce manager Jack Repolu. "You have to keep up with the Joneses."

Repolu said some of the renovations include new cases and racks that will display the products better. It's the first upgrade at the store in about five years.

Turco's, which boasts Westchester's largest and freshest meat and seafood departments, has been in Yorktown 13 years and has 150 employees.

So, I was at Turco's today. Other than some produce signs being under the display rather than over, I am at a loss to see what's new (or better) and there's certainly nothing bigger. What did they do in the two days other than clean the floor?

MisterBill2:

I noticed their ad said they would be "bigger and better". Not sure how they were planning to be bigger in 2 days. Also, do they REALLY have "Westchester's largest and freshest meat and seafood departments". Stew Leonards or Fairway's aren't larger?
