YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- While the Yorktown Heights shop has been open for more than a week, customers who arrive at the Grand Opening of Rita's Italian Ice on June 20 could receive Italian Ice for a year.
The first 50 guests in line, who also donate a new pet supply to Yorktown's Guiding Eyes for the Blind, and stay in line until doors open at 10 a.m. on June 20, will "win Rita’s Italian Ice for a year," according to a press release from Duke Marketing. All guests who visit the new Rita’s Italian Ice for the Grand Opening will receive a free Regular Ice, according to the release. The new 600-square-foot Rita’s Italian Ice is located at 1881A Commerce St. in Yorktown Heights.
“We are so excited to introduce Rita’s Italian Ice to the Yorktown community,” said Jeff Besselman, franchisee, in a press release. “We plan to celebrate our Grand Opening June 20 with 'Free Ice for a Year' for the first 50 guests in line. Everyone will find their own favorite Rita’s Cool Treat, like mine, our Raspberry Lemonade Gelati with Vanilla Custard.”
Rita's of Yorktown will also be helping serve Italian Ice at the Underhill Plaza at 1881 Commerce St. from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday to assist with the Crompound PTA to support school programs, according to the group's website .
The Grand Opening will also serve as a fundraiser to help Guiding Eyes for the Blind , a nonprofit guide dog school in Yorktown Heights. Guiding Eyes provides all of its services at no cost, and is dependent upon contributions to fulfill its mission, according to the release. The organization’s Headquarters and Training Center is located in Yorktown Heights and its Canine Development Center is in Patterson.
