YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- In conjunction with this year’s Yorktown Grange Fair, the Yorktown Grange Tractor Club has announced its annual Antique Tractor and Vehicle Parade will take place on Saturday, Sept. 6, at noon.
Continuing the long tradition, an impressive array of farm tractors, many of which are antiques, will parade through downtown to the Grange fairgrounds where they will be on display during the fair. While the tractors are the stars of the event, they will be joined in the parade this year by select, classic trucks (pre-1973) and cars (pre-1966). “The Tractor Parade has always been a highlight of the Grange Fair each year,” said Curt Chase, president of the tractor club. “Everybody loves a parade, but the Tractor Parade is special because it’s a visual reminder of Yorktown’s agricultural past.” Parade participants will assemble on the Firehouse Field on Veterans Road. The parade will begin at noon, travelling down Veterans Road, Commerce Street, Hanover Street and Moseman Road, before entering the Grange fairgounds. To participate in the parade, contact Scott at email@example.com. Celebrating its 90th year, the Yorktown Grange Fair is the last true country fair of its kind in Westchester County. It is unique for celebrating its agricultural heritage with livestock, poultry and produce exhibits alongside carnival rides, midway games, and live entertainment.
