Brewster Man Caught With 2 Pounds Of Marijuana, Police Say

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. - A Putnam County man is facing felony drug charges following a routine traffic stop on I-90 that resulted in his arrest.

On Tuesday, state police announced that 28-year-old Brewster resident Michael Capezzuto was stopped near Albany over the weekend, when he was found to be in possession of more than two pounds of marijuana.

According to police, shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, Capezzuto was stopped on I-90 in Schodack for multiple traffic violations. During the subsequent investigation by troopers, it was determined he was in possession of the drugs, and Capezzuto was subsequently arrested and transported to the state police barrack in Albany.

Capezzuto was charged with a felony count of second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana and multiple vehicle and traffic violations. He was arraigned before the Town of Schodack Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or bond.
