Empowerment/Media Literacy Workshop: 3:30-5 p.m. North Salem High School senior Alexa Salvato will talk about media and society's negative influence on young girls and how they can thrive in spite of it. Girls in fifth through eighth grades are invited. Drop-in Art at the Ruth Keeler: 7 p.m. Maggie Zander will show you the routes to creative fun. No need to feel you’re an artist to join in. Everyone is welcome. There is no fee, no registration and the basic materials are supplied. The Ruth Keeler Memorial Library is at 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.

Tuesday, Aug. 21

Tuesday Crafts: 4 p.m. Join your child to create a special craft project in the children’s room. All ages are invited. The program is co-sponsored by the North Salem Recreation Department. It’s at the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library, 276 Titicus Rd., North Salem.

Put On Your Own Puppet Show: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Children of all ages are welcome to come and spend the day as a puppeteer. No registration is necessary and there is no fee. It’s at the Ruth Keeler Library, 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.

Board Games at the Library: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Play board games or any other kind of games all day at the library. The event is suitable for children of all ages. Bring your own games or play with ones you find there. It’s at the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library, 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.

Thursday, Aug. 23

Puppets and Stories with Elizabeth: 10:30 a.m. The program continues every Thursday at the same time until the end of the year. It’s at the Ruth Keeler Library, 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.

Puzzle Day at the Ruth Keeler: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Children of all ages are welcome to come and enjoy assembling puzzles. Bring your own our use one of the library’s. No registration is necessary and there is no fee. It’s at the Ruth Keeler Library, 276 Titicus Rd., North Salem.

Drawing with Maggie Zander: 2:30-4:30 p.m. This is another in the eight-session weekly course geared to adults 55 and paid for by a grant from Creative Aging in New York State Libraries. The library will supply all the materials. Space is limited to 10 so call the library at (914) 669-5161 to reserve a space. The Ruth Keeler Memorial Library is at 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.
