YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Alliance for Safe Kids will host a free college application workshop from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1 in the John C. Hart Memorial Library's community room.
At the workshop, recent high school graduates will offer peer-to-peer assistance, advice and insight to rising senior students as they begin to apply to colleges.The workshop will prepare the students for the application process by creating an organized schedule, forming a list of application essays to be written, brainstorm for the essays and create common application accounts and begin to enter information, according to a press release.

Students should bring both a laptop and a list of at least six schools to which they plan to apply.
