Things get spooky Oct. 24 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. when the 29th Annual PTSA Halloween Window Painting takes place for grades kindergarten through fifth-grade. An event for parents will be held Nov. 10 featuring Ron Lieber, New York Times columnist and best selling author. He will be on hand to discuss his most recent book, "The Opposite of Spoiled: Raising Kids Who Are Grounded, Generous and Smart about Money." The event takes place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at H.C. Crittenden Middle School 10 Macdonald Ave. Leiber will discuss how well-meaning parents avoid talking about money out of concern that it is impolite, impolitic or age inappropriate, he makes the inverse case -- that building family conversations around money is one of the best ways we can teach kids great values. The event, sponsored by the Byram Hills PTSA is free.
