Since 2010, Hudson Chorale, Westchester’s largest chorus, has been performing in venues throughout the county, bringing the best in choral singing to the Hudson Valley. Concerts have included traditional choral pieces such as the Brahms Requiem, lesser-known works such as the Mass in D by John Knowles Paine, more contemporary work by composers such as Morten Lauridsen and Eric Whitacre, selections from Broadway, and even new pieces commissioned by the chorus.

As membership has grown, so has audience size, and the chorus now enjoys a regionwide reputation for outstanding programming and artistry. The chorale’s goal is to provide both audience members and singers with the best possible experience in choral singing, offering exciting programs that include the entire choral repertoire -- from the great masterpieces of the past to engaging contemporary compositions.

Singers looking for a new or an additional choral family are encouraged to consider the Hudson Chorale. This production will be the chorus’ second concert under the baton of music director/conductor Ira Spaulding. In addition to preparing choruses and conducting, Spaulding is a singer and choral master-class instructor whose career spans 35 years and 60 countries.

Spaulding currently holds the position of professor of vocal and choral music at City College of New York, is the artistic director of the Park Slope Singers in Brooklyn, and continues to perform and conduct concerts in Europe when possible.

“Singer-friendly” auditions by appointment will begin Monday, Jan. 25, before the first rehearsal. Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings at Pleasantville Presbyterian Church, 400 Bedford Road.
