Rockland Has Two Of State's 'Most Boring' Towns, Website Says

Snooze alert! Rockland has two out of the state’s top 10 most boring communities, according to the niche-reporting site, roadsnacks.net.

The website, which says its goal is to share “bite-sized snacks of shareable information,” bases its surveys on “Friday Night Science – how’d you argue at a bar.”

It determined each town or city’s level of “boring” using data mostly about the age of their populations, overall population and the percentage of households with married couples or with children.

According to roadsnacks' findings, Chestnut Ridge, a village in the town of Ramapo, comes in at No. 5.

With a population of 7,987, the village’s residents are an average age of 43.5. The percentage of married households, is 54.7 and the percentage of homes with kids is 33.4.

According to roadsnacks, Airmont came in a No. 7. Its population was slightly less – 7,869, while the average age of its residents was 42.7; the percentage of married households, 57.7; and the percentage of homes with kids, 38.1.
