The dinner event, organized by area resident Dianne Perfit, honored National Women's History Month, and included items on the menu such as "Elizabeth Warren Stuffed Shrimp," "Kirsten Gillibrand Vegetable Panini" and "Rosa Parks Pecan Pie."
Daily Voice's Features Editor Jeanne Muchnick, a longtime journalist, was among those who shared her story. Other speakers included Kimberly Wilson, a Fairfield County-based actress and founder of Wilson Productions; Leslie Lampert, owner of the locally sourced eateries Ladle of Love in Mount Kisco and Bronxville, Cafe of Love in Mount Kisco and Love on the Run Catering; and Donna Simons, owner of Pound Ridge Organics, a co-op dedicated to providing the community with the most ethically produced seasonal food available in the Hudson Valley.
Jane Crimmins, who founded the Lewisboro Action Network in January, said her group is all about educating, empowering and acting in light of the Trump administration's policies.
Indeed, the women at the event spoke from the heart about their careers and personal struggles and the importance of telling stories and staying true to yourself. Wilson, known for her one-woman shows, even led the group in a rousing rendition of "This Little Light of Mine."
