YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Lou Cardillo recently donated $500 to the Purple Heart Homes NY Downstate Chapter for its fifth annual Veterans Thanksgiving Dinner.
“I am so happy to partner with Purple Heart Homes NY Downstate Chapter and Suzi McDonough to keep this wonderful tradition going,” said Cardillo. “We have a wonderful team that is volunteering to help run this event, but we are still need the community's support to make this all possible.”
Cardillo announced a partnership with the chapter and Carmel Town Councilwoman McDonough back in July.
“It’s great that the community is coming together to host this dinner that honors and pays tributes to our Veterans for the fifth year. I thank Lou Cardillo for his generous donation to help us obtain the needed funds for this wonderful event,” said Eugene Parrotta, executive director of Purple Heart Homes NY Downstate Chapter. “I always look forward to the Veterans Thanksgiving Dinner each year, as it is truly an incredible event for everyone who attends.”
The dinner will take place Nov. 21 at the Putnam Golf Course. Close to 500 veterans and their guests have RSVPed so far.
