In its fifth year, the event began after a blind Lions Club member mentioned that she liked to ride tandem bicycles during benefit events. When no tandem bikes could be found, member Bob Scop suggested motorcycles, and all the members jumped at the chance to raise funds for the local charity.
Guiding Eyes provides trained guide dogs to men and women who are blind or visually impaired free of charge in order to broaden their lives.
The ride, which begins with registration at 8 a.m., at Mount Kisco Village Hall, 104 Main St., and hits the road at 10 a.m., takes attendees through the Hudson Valley with a police escort.Following the ride, there is a party complete with barbecue, entertainment, raffles and even an ice cream truck at the Boy's and Girl's Club of Northern Westchester at 351 E. Main St.
Admission is $25 donation per rider/$40 rider and passenger.
