Underage DUI Driver Crashes Jaguar After Grad Party In Dumfries

An 18-year-old man repeat DUI offender crashed his Jaguar Sunday, May 21 after a graduation party in Stafford County, authorities said.

The 6:30 a.m. incident on Jason Lane in Dumfries involved three vehicles and a mailbox, the a spokesperson for the county sheriff's office said.

The driver was unconscious and the vehicle was still in drive when a deputy responded, police said.

Multiple cans of alcohol were found in the vehicle, and when the driver came to, he had glassy eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath, authorities said. 

The driver was charged with driving under the influence second offense in five years, illegal consumption of alcohol, illegal possession of alcohol, violation of a restricted license, and two counts of destruction of property. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $10,000 secured bond.
