PARAMUS, N.J. — Andrea Holmes' travels have taken her from Paramus to all corners of the globe, including Brazil, Iceland and Africa (SEE HERE).

Photo Credit: Andrea HolmesMy trip started in Ushuaia, Argentina. It is the southern-most and "last" city in the world. Our hotel was located in front of the beautiful snow-capped mountains of Ushuaia.
Photo Credit: andrea HolmesThe next day we hopped on a boat for a two day trip thru the Drake Passage, going from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. These are the roughest waters in the world.
Photo Credit: Andrea HolmesThen we got off the main ship onto a Zodiac Boat to take us to the continent. I was told if you fall in you have two minutes before you go into hypothermia and croak.
Photo Credit: Andrea HolmesSome icebergs are blue. The color occurs mostly in very old ice from a very deep glacier and is the result hundreds or even thousands of years of compression and ongoing thawing and refreezing of the ice. Here we are going under this ice tunnel.

Photo Credit: Andrea HolmesPenguins, penguins, penguins. They are supposed to mate for life. The prospective suitor gathers rocks for the female and she makes a nest with the rocks. The more rocks, the better. Just like keeping up with the Jones.

Photo Credit: Andrea HolmesOne day the ship had a barbeque on deck; believe it or not it was warm enough to sit out on deck, enjoy barbecued ribs, great wine and great company while looking at icebergs.
