For the past three years, Tompkins has participated in the Support Connection’s annual fundraising event. This year the company served as a walk sponsor, passing out more than 500 bags of popcorn to walkers in addition to donating T-shirts. The company staff also took part in the walk.

“Support Connection’s work is of critical importance to people that have been affected by breast and ovarian cancer,” said Stacey Tompkins, president of Tompkins Excavation Corp. “We are happy to be able to do our part to help them continue their inspirational mission.” Nearly 10,000 participants attended the Oct. 5 walk at FDR State Park in Yorktown Heights and celebrated the 20th year of the Support Connection’s walk. Each year, the Support Connections brings attention to people living with breast and ovarian cancer. All proceeds from the Support-A-Walk go to the Support Connection’s free, year-round services for those living with the diseases in Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties. “Everyone came together to support, celebrate and remember,” Support Connection officials said in a statement. “Every year for 20 years we’ve been moved and humbled by the many expressions of emotion, solidarity and inspiration that come from you, our friends and supporters.”
