Tarrytown Celebrates Rotary Duck Derby

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- The 8th annual Rotary Rubber Ducky Derby and YMCA Healthy Kids Day took place at Patriot's Park on Saturday, April 30.

Sunshine emerged just in time for families to watch the toy ducks "race" down Andres Brook.

Hope Hose and Conqueror Fire Depts. removed winter debris from Andres Brook before the race. They also pumped water into the stream to ensure prompt, smooth sailing from the ducks.

The winner of each of the seven heats competed in a final race for the grand prize, which was won by Philip Johnson.

The funds raised by the Rotary Club will go to grants and scholarships for the community.
