SHRUB OAK, N.Y. — The annual Yorktown Veterans Day parade returns to town at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Line-up for the holiday parade begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Lakeland High School east entrance parking lot. The parade will step off at 2 p.m. and will proceed east on Main Street, ending at John C. Hart Memorial Library.

A brief ceremony honoring local veterans will follow on the grounds of the library. This year's guest speaker will be Mike Romano, who served in the first Gulf War and in Somalia with the U.S. Marine Corps. Romano is a resident of Cortlandt Manor and teaches at Yorktown High School.

Marching in the parade will be local veterans, active military personnel, elected officials, hundreds of Scouts and their families, civic groups and others from the community.
