Friday, Sept. 28
Citizens for a Progressive Yorktown: 9:30 a.m. A newly formed group of individuals, companies and institutions will have a press conference to announce its mission and goals. Parkside Corner, 3635 Crompond Road.
Lakeland High School Homecoming: 4 p.m. A homecoming carnival kicks off homecoming weekend at Lakeland High School. The varsity football team will play a home game at 7 p.m. 1349 E. Main St.
Yorktown High School Homecoming Football Game: 6 p.m. The Huskers will take on Eastchester High School in its homecoming game. Walter Panas High School, 300 Croton Ave., Cortlandt Manor.
Saturday, Sept. 29
Farmers' Market: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Yorktown Farmers' Market is every Saturday until Oct. 27. Veterans Road behind the Yorktown Fire Department.
Beer Tasting Fundraiser: Noon to 5 p.m. The Yorktown Rotary hosts "The Best & the Wurst" beer-tasting fundraiser. Beer lovers can pay $30 in advance or $40 at the door, and designated drivers/children can pay $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Buy tickets or donate: www.rotarybeertasting.org. Yorktown High School Homecoming: 6 p.m. The Homecoming festivities continue into Saturday with a bonfire at 6 p.m. and a dance at 7 p.m at Yorktown High School, 2727 Crompond Road.
Sunday, Sept. 30
Flea Market: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Antiques and collectibles will be on sale. Veterans Road behind the Yorktown Fire Department.
