Friday, April 12

Somers Litter Task Force Annual Roadside and Neighborhood Clean-up: All day. Help the Town of Somers celebrate World Circus Day (April 20) and Earth Day (April 22) with the Annual Roadside and Neighborhood Clean-Up running from April 12 to April 22. Roadside litter collected by you will be picked up by the Town Highway Department.

Second Annual Comedy for a Cause: 7:30 to 10 p.m. Comedy For A Cause benefits Relay for Life at the Solaris Sports Club. Come laugh and enjoy yourself and help benefit a great cause. The show is for persons aged 18 and older and tickets are $25 per person. Solaris Sports Club, 201 Veterans Road, Yorktown Heights.

MESMS Presents “The Little Mermaid Jr:” 7:30 p.m. Mildred E. Strang Middle School students will perform “The Little Mermaid Jr.” in the Yorktown High School Auditorium. Tickets for the show are $9. Let It Shine At Walter Panas High School: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free and open sessions at “Let It Shine” are set to include a variety of activities, guest speakers and workshops about the various learning challenges facing our children including ADD and ADHD. Monty Python’s “Spamalot” At Yorktown Stage: 7:30 p.m. The Yorktown Stage and PMT Productions present “Spamalot.” This Tony Award winning comedy will feature a live orchestra and a cast drawn from local towns around Westchester and Putnam. Tickets range from $19 to $26.  Yorktown Live Musical Theatre, 1974 Commerce St., Yorktown Heights.

Meet The Author At Somers Library: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jo Pitkins, who grew up in Somers, presents her new book "Cradle of the American Circus: Poems from Somers NY." The book is a collection of poems inspired by the people, events and fantastic ephemera of the glory days of the Somers showmen. The Somers Library, 80 Primrose St., Katonah.

Save A Life In Yorktown: 2 p.m. Save A Life is a program designed to inform and empower youth and adults to be community allies and first responders to support teens and families in crisis. Seating is limited. Students attending Save A Life will be eligible to receive two hours of community service. Yorktown Museum, 1974 Commerce St., Yorktown Heights.
