Costco Public Hearing: 7:30 p.m. A discussion of Costco's draft environmental impact statement will take center stage at the meeting of the Yorktown Planning Board. Yorktown Community & Cultural Center, Nutrition Center Room. 1974 Commerce St.

Tuesday, Oct. 16

Mohegan Lake Fire District Budget Hearing: 7 p.m. Jefferson Valley Fire Station, 500 Lee Blvd.

Yorktown Town Board Meeting: 7:30 p.m. John C. Hart Memorial Library, 1130 E. Main St.

Yorktown Heights Fire District Budget Hearing: 8 p.m. Yorktown Fire Station No. 2, 794 Locksley Road.

Wednesday, Oct. 17

Earring Making Workshop: Residents are invited to make earrings for themselves and for a local battered women’s shelter. The program is for adults and teens, and is limited to 30 participants. Register for this program by calling 914-245-5262, ext. 227. 1130 E. Main St., Shrub Oak.

Candlelight Vigil: 6:30 p.m. In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Temple Beth Am of Yorktown Heights is hosting a candlelight vigil.
