What's Happening In Yorktown This Weekend

YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Yorktown residents have several opportunities this weekend to enjoy musical performances and try some fresh food at free concerts and farmers' market. Friday, August 17Summer Concert Series: 8 p.m. The Winery at St. George continues its free summer concerts with performances by The Score and The Rhett Tyler Band. 1715 E. Main St., Mohegan Lake. Saturday, August 18Yorktown Farmers' Market: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market offers a variety of products from local vendors, including Yorktown’s own Blossom Nurseries and Hilltop Hanover Farm. The SPCA of Westchester also will be represented at the market as the Charitable Organization of the Week. Veteran’s Road behind the firehouse. Hilltop Hanover Farm: 10 a.m. There will be several things to do at the farm, including a lesson on canning foods from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., as well as the opportunity to pick your own vegetables until 4 p.m. 1271 Hanover St.Yorktown Alumni Reunion Concert: 6-10 p.m. The Yorktown Alumni Association will be hosting its first annual grand reunion concert, featuring more than 30 Yorktown Alumni musicians performing 1960s and ’70s music. Doors open at 6 p.m. at Yorktown Stage, and the concert begins at 7. 1974 Commerce St. Sunday, August 19 Open House at the new Rosenthal JCC: 10:30 a.m. to noon. Rosenthal JCC Yorktown will be having an open house for its new location in the Yorktown Jewish Center. The organization offers various programs for children and adults of all religions and ethnicities, including Mommy & Me for kids, Friends & Fun for children with special needs, and Intro to Judaism for adults.
