YORKTOWN, N.Y. – The third annual Wifftoberfest Wiffle Ball tournament takes place Saturday at Navajo Fields at the Yorktown Sports Complex, 3000 Navajo St, Yorktown Heights.
Hosted by the Yorkville Sports Association, the event benefits Yorktown’s Alliance for Safe Kids. All ages are welcome and every player will receive a free T-shirt.
The cost for the open division is $120/team, and the family division is $100/team. Team check-in starts at 9 a.m. and the first game begins at 10 a.m.
In addition to Navajo Fields, sponsors include Dave & Busters of Pelham Manor, D. Bertoline & Sons, Frankie & Augie'Z Ristorante, Sonic Sports, Turco’s and Yorkville Sports Association.
The first-place team in the open division will receive $500 cash and a trophy, with trophies awarded to the second- and third-place teams. The first-place team in the family division will receive $250 in gift certificates and a trophy, with trophies going to the second- and third-place teams.
The event includes a home run derby, allowing Wiffleballers to demonstrate their prowess with the long ball. The home run derby is open to everyone and is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The prize is a 50/50 split, and the champion also receives a atrophy.
