SHRUB OAK, N.Y. - Yorktown's 9/11 memorial will take place at the Shrub Oak Memorial Plaza next to the John C. Hart Library once again. The ceremony begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

"It’s obviously a very profound day in American history and we can keep the memory of those that gave so much on that day so innocently alive," said Town Supervisor Michael Grace. "I invite everybody to come along and be there."

Those memorialized in the ceremony will be Yorktown Heights residents Patrick William Danahy, Alan Wayne Friedlander, Paul Fiori and Barry J. McKeon, and Mohegan Lake resident Simon Dedvukaj.

"I personally knew a couple of people that it memorializes," Grace said. "They were great people, they were great members of our community, and there’s not a day that goes by that we don’t suffer from their loss."
