YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Foundation for Excellence in Yorktown Education is hosting a comedy night Friday.
The night is scheduled to include several local comedians as a fundraiser for the foundation at 7 p.m. at the Putnam National Golf Club, according to a press release. Tickets are $75 per person or $140 for two and include appetizers, dinner, dessert, refreshments and a night of comedy featuring three comedians, according to the release.
The Yorktown Foundation for Excellence celebrated "a banner year" in June granting more than $50,000 and awarding two $1,000 scholarships for the Yorktown Central School District. The foundation raised the money in partnership with the H.W. Wilson Foundation and the Yorktown High School PTSA through several fundraisers throughout the school year. A majority of the money was raised through the Healthy Yorktown 5K Run/Walk, a wine tasting, a comedy night and several other fundraisers, foundation representatives said in a press release.
