YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Yorktown Grange Fair has carnival rides, game booths, funnel cakes and more to appeal to kids and adults alike.

The only remaining true country fair in Westchester County, the Grange Fair is celebrating its 91st year from Thursday, Sept. 10 to Sunday, Sept. 13th. In addition to the carnival rides, midway games, and fun food, the Grange Fair also celebrates Yorktown’s agricultural heritage with livestock, produce, and flower exhibits and competitions. Fairgoers of all ages will see various breeds of cows, horses, goats, and sheep in the livestock tents. There will also be plenty of demonstrations in the horse ring such as an oxen pull, horses barrel racing, canine agility show, and costumed animal competitions. All the special events and judgings will be posted each day in the livestock area.

Some of the additional activities for the kids at this year’s fair include: Multiple magic shows by Tony’s World of Magic and Illusion scheduled each day; A variety of audience participation events including karaoke, watermelon and pie eating contests, balloon blowing, and rubber chicken throwing contests; Live music on stage daily, including a multi-instrumental show by Overhill Shenanigans on Saturday afternoon specifically for young kids; Lots of farm tractors all on display; Hay rides around the fairgrounds; The cow-milking simulator; All of the Lego contest entries on display in the main hall.

Best of all, all of the animals, music, shows, demonstrations, contests and exhibits are free with paid admission to the Fair. So bring the kids and plan to stay awhile – the Grange Fair has a lot to see and do. For more information, please visit www.yorktowngrangefair.org
