YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- The Taconic Opera of Yorktown Heights opens its 16th season with Bellini's "Norma" on Oct. Sunday, 20 at 2 p.m.

Francesca Mondanaro returns to Yorktown in the lead role. She was previously in the company's production of Macbeth.

Ms. Mondanaro is "one of the best sopranos in the world" said Dan Montez, General Director of the opera, in a statement.

There will be a special presentation for students on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. as part of the opera's school outreach program.

Tickets range from $15 for students to $57 for orchestra seats. Seniors 65 and older receive a discount. Season tickets are also available.
