YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Yorktown Leo's Club, a volunteer group for young people ages 12 to 25, is holding a fundraiser for Brielle Furci, a young woman recently diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer.
Furci, a well known and loved student at Yorktown High School, takes part in many clubs and sports, while being a positive role model in our community, said Danielle Moffett, treasurer for the club.
The group is hoping to raise $12,000 during the event that takes place from noon to 7 p.m., Nov. 7, at Yorktown High School.
All funds raised will be split 50/50 with the Furci family and Support Connection, a non-profit organization that provides support for women with breast and ovarian cancer.
The Yorktown Leos hold a concert for cancer for the organization every year, but are hoping to take it a step further this year, by also raising funds for Furci.
The event will include vendors, children activities, live music, puppy adoptions, raffles, and food.
To donate, or for more information, contact Moffett at 914-552-7112.
