Yorktown Prepares For Biggest Fall Festival Yet

YORKTOWN, N.Y. - Hundreds of local vendors will line the downtown streets Sunday when the Yorktown Festival and Street Fair returns for its fourth and biggest year yet.

"This year’s fall festival is the largest," said Town Supervisor Michael Grace. "We have 250 vendors and they have a whole list of entertainers that will perform all day long. Amazing talent; some of it local."

Performing throughout the day are Robin and the Hoods, Elvis impersonator Patrick Perone, Just Nuts, RJ Stump and the Blue Mountain Band, The Facilitators, Newton Firnas, B Stern’s Bop Nuvo, and the Yorktown Alumni Band. Information about each band can be found on the festival’s site .

For the event, Yorktown will close Commerce and Veteran streets to traffic while street vendors transform the town into a "giant mall," according to festival chair Joseph Visconti. The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the rain date is Monday.

"There’s a lot of discussion about supporting our local business community, our local vendors, your opportunity to do so is Sunday," Grace said. "The street fair and our business community contributes and awful lot of money to our civic and charitable, organizations in town, and we have a lot of them."
