Yorktown Teen Center Announces Fundraising Dinner

YORKTOWN, N.Y. – The Yorktown Teen Center’s annual fundraising dinner returns Oct. 25 with a night of cocktails, awards, live music and more.

The non-profit organization’s dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Colonial Terrace in Cortlandt Manor. The event honors the Teen Center’s 2012 Youth Advocate, Michelle Marchetti, a former math teacher at Mildred E. Strange Middle School and an active Teen Center volunteer.

Marchetti will be awarded the Joan Valenstein Memorial Youth Advocate Award. Valenstein, who was a youth advocate and a founding Teen Center Board Member, died in May 2010 after a car accident.

The Master of Ceremonies for the event will be Rick Cerrone, a Yorktown High School alumni and former Senior Director of Media Relations for the New York Yankees. Cerrone received the Joan Valenstein award in 2011.

Live music will be performed by The Hudson River Jazz Band, the Yorktown High School Jazz Band and various First Friday Open Mic Night teen performers.

The dinner is open to all and tickets – at $75 per person, $750 for a table of 10 – are available online . Proceeds raised from the event will provide for programming for the youth attending the center as well as for the Teen Center’s operating costs.
