This evening of rousing, hand clapping, spirit-filled music will kick off the 2014- 2015 concert season and promises to inspire even Presbyterians to clap along.
The Antioch Choir, under the direction of Earlena (Brown) Thevenin, has existed for almost as long as the Antioch Baptist Church in Bedford Hills, which celebrated its 120th anniversary in September 2014.
The choir’s repertoire includes anthems, spirituals, hymns and gospel music.
The evening will feature a journey through the history of gospel music, including the original gospel songs and then their modern, contemporary interpretations. The Antioch Baptist Choir enjoys sharing The Good News through song, lifting their voices, clapping their hands and praising God with a variety of instruments.
A donation to support the concert series is requested at the door. All are welcome regardless of ability to pay. A reception will follow the performance.
The Church is located at the corner of Routes 202/35 and 132 in Yorktown.
