The opening reception will be Saturday, July 11, from 2-4 p.m.
The artists, who come from throughout Westchester County, have been meeting for several years at a home every Wednesday to draw, paint and conduct a creative form of group therapy. Members include a lawyer, teacher, dentist among other professions. Members of the the group have dealt with illness, a kidney transplant, death, divorce and other problems.
The artists are finally combining their artwork (oils, pastels, pencil, watercolor, gauche) and presenting their first show.
The pieces range from realistic still life and local landscapes to fabric design, humorous illustrations, children's picture book designs, and retro signs and toys.
The library is at 1130 E. Main St., Shrub Oak. For more information, visit http://www.yorktownlibrary.org.
