The celebration will include food (including a gluten-free table), music, art and entertainment. All middle school students and their families are invited.
“This is one of the school’s most successful student-centered events,” said Marion Ricci and Mary Lou McIntosh, the two teachers who have coordinated the event since its inception.
“The purpose of our club is to teach cultural awareness by having the students learn and respect differences among people, which coincides with other programs at the middle school, such as Bully Prevention and Positive Behavior Intervention Supports. They added that this event could not exist without the continued support of the PTA.
Students will dance, perform, sing and play instrumental pieces as entertainment for the evening. Multimedia about various countries will be presented by students. Tickets are $10 per ticket and can be paid by cash or check, payable to YCSD.
