“Complementary Therapies and Cancer Care” will cover the utilization of complementary therapies when coping with the regular medical practices of breast, ovarian or gynecological cancer.
The forum will take a look at acupuncture, meditation, reiki, reflexology, therapeutic massage and yoga through the eyes of the four members of the panel.
Mia Azcue has been a licensed physical therapist for over 20 years specializing in yoga, Allison Brates is a licensed massage therapist and works with oncology patients, Marilyn Leroy-Sterling has 18 years of oncology experience and is NWH's Care Coordinator and Anne West is a licensed acupuncturist with experience in other modalities.
The event runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and it's open to the public. As with other Support Connection programs, pre-registration is required. Registration can be completed by calling the Connection offices at (914) 962-6402 or (800) 532-4290.
