Yorktown's Support Connection Sponsors Book Club In Cortlandt

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Support Connection Inc. will conduct the next session of its book club, which is open to people living with breast, ovarian and gynecological cancers, on Thursday, Oct. 22.

The event will be from 7-9 p.m. at Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center at New York-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor.

At this session, the book club will discuss "A Walk In the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail" by Bill Bryson. 

The discussion will enable participants to “travel” the trail with Bryson as their guide, a journey filled with a mix of humor, facts, interesting characters and adventure. 

Support Connection is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization that provides free, confidential support services and programs to people affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Founded in 1996, Support Connection is based in Yorktown Heights, but through its toll-free hotline serves people throughout the country. 

Services include: one-on-one peer counseling and support groups, offering women the opportunity to connect with other cancer survivors; ongoing wellness classes; holistic health workshops; public educational programs; Information and referral services; a toll-free cancer information and support hotline (800-532-4290.)
