One of this year’s sponsors, Dave and Busters, will have a street team present at each tournament with their prize wheel to give out goodies to the winners.

“All of our tournaments are both recreational and competitive, and our Wiffle Ball tournaments have a family component,” said Al Morales, president of YSA. “Our goal is to provide an opportunity for athletic competition and family fun while benefiting the organizations that provide valuable services to our community.”

The “Wiffathon” Wiffle Ball Tournament will be held at Navajo Fields at the Yorktown Sports Complex Saturday, July 11. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department.

The second annual Nothin’ But Net 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will be held Wednesday, July 15 through Friday, July 17 at FDR State Park Basketball Court. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Friends of FDR State Park and the Yorktown Teen Center.

A Home Run Derby for adult softball players 18 and over will be held Sundays from July 12 through Aug. 2 at Sprout Brook Fields in Cortlandt Manor, New York. A portion of the proceeds from the Home Run Derby will benefit Special Olympics.

In addition to the tournaments being held throughout the summer, YSA is organizing coed kickball and dodgeball leagues in the Yorktown area. Registration is now open. There are three league divisions, which include adults 19 and over, youth ages 16-18 and youth ages 13-15. A portion of the proceeds from the leagues will benefit Support Connection and Yorktown Athletic Club.

The third annual “Wifftoberfest” Wiffle Ball Tournament will be held Saturday, October 17 at Navajo Fields. A portion of the proceeds will benefit ASK (Alliance For Safe Kids).

The annual Turkey Bowl Coed and Men’s Flag Tournament will be held during Thanksgiving weekend Saturday, Nov. 28. The tournament is open to ages 16 and over in both competitive and family divisions. A portion of the proceeds will benefit a local food pantry to help feed families in need.
