During a visit to Charchael's Hot Dog Oasis - a Valhalla hot dog truck that can normally be found on Route 100 and 134 in Yorktown - one thing quickly became clear: the steady stream of regulars who frequent the truck, love the hot dogs.
"This is convenient, and for the dogs you get here you'd have to go to New York City to get these old-fashioned dogs," Ken McLaughlan, of Peekskill, who stopped in for dogs with his son, told Daily Voice. "These are the best I've had up here."
Owners Sal and Tina Celona have run the truck for 25 years, and their specialty is hot dogs, and their own home style chili and onions.
"We get new customers every day, and we have a lot of very loyal customers - people who come pout of their way to come here all the time," Sal Celona said.
The smoked hot sausage seemed to be a popular choice as well.
"I love the hot dogs and the chili here," Chester Mackey of Jefferson Valley said. "I even get off the (nearby) Taconic to come here."
"This is the best hot dog stand on the road in Westchester County," Pleasantville's Chuck Rowe said flatly. "Whatever they have is great, but the hot dogs and onions... you can't beat it."
