That's why Northern Westchester Hospital and LongLiveNY.org are partnering to host organ donation signups across the county this fall. The goal is for area residents to join the already 4.4 million New Yorkers who have already signed up to potentially save lives.
Not sure if donation is right for you? Potential donors shouldn't rule themselves out due preexisting medical conditions or age; in fact, New York recently saw a 93 year-old donor give life to a transplant recipient.
"We’re hopeful that New Yorkers will be inspired to take action and register as organ and tissue donors," said James Pardes, vice president of marketing and communications for LiveOnNY.
Organ donor registry days will be held at the following Westchester County events:
- Mt. Kisco Sales Day -- Sept. 16 & 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; South Moger Avenue, Mt. Kisco
- Chappaqua Community Day -- Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Salon 228, 26 South Greeley Avenue, Chappaqua
- Armonk Cider and Donut Festival -- Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.; 41 Wampus Avenue, Armonk
