King Kone Finishes At The Top In DVlicious Best Ice Cream Contest

SOMERS, N.Y. - The results are in, and as most people around the Somers area already knew, King Kone is at the top when it comes to Westchester ice cream places.

The always crowded King Kone, at the intersection of routes 35 and 100, has been in business since 1953. Current owners Deb and Brian Hopkins took over 14 years ago.

King Kone finished tied for the top spot in Westchester with Valhalla's Village Creamery & Sweet Shop in the voting. Both shops garnered 40 percent of readers' votes.

King Kone is known more for its soft-serve while Village Creamery is known for its homemade ice cream.
