Paraskevidekatriaphobia is the fear of Friday the 13, which happens to be today .This tounge twister of a diagnosis was devised by Dr. Donald Dossey, an American psychotherapist, who told his patients that "when you learn to pronounce it, you're cured!"
No-one is quite certain why people associate Friday the 13th with bad luck, although several theories date back to biblical times. Today marks the only Friday the 13th in the calendar year, while 2016 held three such dates.
