The band, which has performed at the Pleasantville Music Festival, will be at the Hudson Hop and Harvest Festival on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Peekskill Riverfront Green Park. The festival runs from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Scars On 45 is set to release its sophomore album "Safety in Numbers" on Oct. 7 and has been touring to promote the record. The alt rock band has been featured on "The Tonight Show" and their music has been heard on "Catfish" and "Grey's Anatomy."
"It's been a long journey," vocalist Danny Bemrose said. "We've had our ups and downs. We've been on the road and recording our album in various places."
The band lost its initial record deal before signing on with Nettwerk Records. Despite the highs and lows, Bemrose said it's been a blast touring and hearing their song "Hearts on Fire" on the radio.
"We've been friends for a number of years and have always dreamed of doing this," Bemrose said. "We've been able to travel the United States and meet people. It's what we've worked for and have made the struggle completely with it. We're really thankful."
Bemrose said he loves performing in Westchester, calling it a beautiful part of the world.
"We're excited to see our friends," Bemrose said. "[Westchester radio station] The Peak was one of the first to get behind us. They are not just a radio station, they are like family. We have a lot of friends there and we can't wait to spend time there."
A Scars On 45 performance is filled with a lot of passion, Bemrose said.
"We give it everything we got," Bemrose said. "We leave it all on the stage. Who you see on stage is who we are. We do every gig like we playing to our friends."
Bemrose said performing on "The Tonight Show" was a nerve-wracking experience.
"It was great but I didn't get to enjoy it," Bemrose said. "I was just absolutely than anything. It's a milestone that you will never forget."
