Women With Cancer Offered Yoga Program In Yorktown

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Support Connection, Inc. announces a free weekly program: “Yoga: A Path Toward Wellness” that takes place on Saturdays from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Club Fit, Jefferson Valley. 

The program is open to people living with breast, ovarian and gynecological cancers.

The dates in March include March 5, 12, 19 and 26. It is open to people living with breast, ovarian and gynecological cancers. To learn more or to pre-register, which is required, call Support Connection at 914-962-6402 or 800-532-4290. 

Experience the benefits of yoga: a stronger healthier body and a calmer, more focused mind. Emphasis is on movement with breath awareness to achieve a tranquil feeling and it is appropriate for beginners or advance students. Support Connections asks for those wishing to join to obtain doctor’s approval before participating in any wellness program. 

The instructor will be Mia Azcue. Azcue has been a yoga student and teacher for more than 20 years, and has taught classes for Support Connection for more than 10 years. 

She is certified by the American Viniyoga Institute as a yoga teacher and a yoga therapist. She is also a state licensed physical therapist. Her training enables her to assist each person with any physical, emotional and/or spiritual challenges she may be facing.
