Cat in the Hat Celebrates at Jefferson Valley Mall

YORKTOWN, N.Y. — A parade of Cat in the Hat adoring readers celebrated the 75th anniversary of Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel’s first book “And To Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street” Saturday with a parade around the Jefferson Valley Mall and a meet and greet with one of literature’s most notorious felines.

The event, titled “75 Years of Imagination” also featured a book reading from Yorktown Superintendent Ralph Napolitano, according to the mall.

The Simon Kidgits Club, Dr. Seuss Enterprises L.P. and Random House Children’s Books celebrated the event. Children and families were able to take a picture in front of a Mulberry street-themed backdrop, get a photo with the Cat in the Hat, decorate Mulberry Street bookmarks and more, the mall said.
