YORKTOWN, N.Y. A parade of Cat in the Hat adoring readers celebrated the 75th anniversary of Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisels first book And To Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street Saturday with a parade around the Jefferson Valley Mall and a meet and greet with one of literatures most notorious felines.
The event, titled 75 Years of Imagination also featured a book reading from Yorktown Superintendent Ralph Napolitano, according to the mall.
The Simon Kidgits Club, Dr. Seuss Enterprises L.P. and Random House Childrens Books celebrated the event. Children and families were able to take a picture in front of a Mulberry street-themed backdrop, get a photo with the Cat in the Hat, decorate Mulberry Street bookmarks and more, the mall said.
