MOHEGAN LAKE, N.Y. – Dr. Joel J. Feintuch, a Mohegan Lake optometrist, died May 6 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He was 60.
Feintuch operated Eye Care Vision Center on East Main Street in Mohegan Lake.
He was born Sept. 26, 1951 in Manhattan to Morris and Jeanette Feintuch. In 1983, Feintuch married Jane LaLuna in Ossining. He received a doctorate degree in optometry from the New York State School of Optometry.
Feintuch also owned and operated Eye Care Vision Center in Carmel, N.Y. and Vails Gate Vision Center in New Windsor, N.Y. A former resident of Yonkers, Joel resided in Dutchess County. He enjoyed golf, antiques, clocks, yard work, his German Shepherd dogs and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Jane, two sons Jason Feintuch of Manhattan and Alex Feintuch of Poughkeepsie, a stepson Thom Leete of Poughkeepsie and a niece.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home in Poughkeepsie. A service will be held at Friday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
