Mount Kisco Partners In Prevention Introduce New Coordinator

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- The new coordinator of Mount Kisco Partners in Prevention will be introduced to the public Nov. 9 at the group's monthly meeting at Town Hall.

Highlighting the agenda will be an opportunity for social worker Domingo Maceira to gain input from community members on how best the coaltion can serve Mount Kisco's young people.

 Domingo Maceira will be introduced at the group's monthly meeting at Town Hall. 

Parents, school administrators, community leaders and coalition members are especially encouraged to attend.

Background

As a licensed clinical social worker, Maceira, has an extensive background in mental health and substance abuse. 

Maceira was with the Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health for 25 years as a therapist and administrator working at the County's Yonkers Clinic, and at the County's Correctional Health Division at the county jail. 

 “I am looking forward to engaging as many people as possible in our community-wide effort to help our youth stay drug- and alcohol-free. I have seen first-hand the challenges substance misuse can do to an individual, to the family unit and to the community, but I also see the tremendous opportunity for us to work together so that our youth can make informed choices and lead healthy lifestyles,” he said.

 Maceira who started in his new capacity at the beginning of October. Maceira is also an adjunct professor at Westchester Community. He  teaches human services and social welfare.

Additionally, at a private clinic, he serves as the coordinator of clinical services, focused on substance and alcohol abuse. 

Education

Maceira is a resident of Pound Ridge and grew up in Mount Kisco, having graduated from Fox Lane High School. He completed his bachelor's degree at Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia and his masters degree at Columbia University. 

He has volunteered with the Red Cross Psychology Response Team and is Coordinator for the Mount Kisco Partner In Prevention
