Retired Stationary Fireman, Ferguson Dies at 88

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Frank Ferguson, of Yorktown Heights, died on Oct. 29 at the age of 88.

A retired stationary fireman, Ferguson was born on May 1, 1923 in the village of Belcoo in Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.

After moving to the United States, he served in the U.S. Army. On June 22, 1957, Ferguson married Sheila Hughes. He retired from his position as stationary fireman at City College in 1982.

Surviving are his wife Sheila, his son Sean Ferguson, his daughter Siobhan Sundel, his brothers Vincent Ferguson, Michael Ferguson and Gregory Ferguson, his sister Maureen Gariano and two granddaughters.

The family will receive friends at Yorktown Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery
