YORKTOWN, N.Y. Josh Davies IV learned of the deteriorating stage used at the Grange Fair in Yorktown from his father who is the chairperson of the Grange Fair Association and decided to do something about it.
Davies, who led a project to fix the stage, was recognized at Tuesday's town board meeting for his service to the town.
The fair, which is led and organized by volunteers utilizes the stage for a large portion of the event for entertainment and shows. Davies organized the building of the stage by helping to physically build it and organize the volunteers, both Grange volunteers and members of his own Boy Scout troop.
"It was a difficult project," he said. "But when I learned that the stage had been falling apart I thought it would be a good project to take on."
Davies completed the project in order to become an Eagle Scout.
