Johnson, a senior at Yorktown High School, received the honor at a special Court of Honor, according to a press release. To attain this rank, Johnson earned 42 merit badges, completed an Eagle Scout project and served his troop in several leadership positions, including senior patrol leader, according to the release.

Johnson's project included refurbishing and rebuilding the entrance patios and benches at the United Methodist Church in Yorktown Heights.

"He rebuilt the benches, replaced the rotted frame on one patio and added a frame to the opposite patio, removed the bricks from the patios on either side of the entrance, dug out the weeds and cut back the overgrown shrubs, leveled the site, relayed the bricks and poured inter locking sand," according to the release.
